Today's song is Numb by Linkin Park. This takes me way back, and it still hits my heart. Released as the final track on Linkin Park's landmark 2003 album Meteora, the song is about the crushing pressure of trying to meet others people's expectations and the emotional shutdown that happens when you lose your identity. Following the tragic death of Chester Bennington in 2017, the track took on a heartbreaking second meaning for fans, retroactively viewed as a raw window into his lifelong battle with inner emptiness and mental health.
Let's learn it together the ASL version and on Guitar, Ukulele & Piano. I added some awesome covers of this song at the end. So let's get in to it.

Hi!
My name is Tomeu Alcover. I'm a guitar player and guitar teacher from Spain living in Sweden. I hope that you enjpoy this channel and it helps you become a better guitar player. And please support the channel becoming a patreon. IT HELPS A LOT!
In this Numb guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play all of Brad Delson's guitar parts for this massive hit by Linkin Park. I will also show you how to play the sampled melody transcribed for the guitar as well. The tuning is, starting from the 6th string, (C# G# C# F# A# D#) or if you prefer to call those notes via their flat names (Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb). The opening melody is easily played on guitar and occurs multiple times in the song. If you have a second guitarist to play with, it would be great to play this over the guitar riffs. When the main riff kicks in, we will have 4 huge power chords played by Delson. The third chord is voiced a little differently than most of the power chords you will see played in a dropped tuning. I will explain what is going on there in the video lesson. During the first pre-chorus and 2nd verse and pre-chorus, there is a nice little guitar part layered on top of the synth chords. This repeated phrase is pretty easy to play and sounds really cool over the synth chords. The chorus riff is the same as the main riff heard at the beginning of the song. There is one additional riff a little later in the song for the bridge section. This is my favorite part of the song with the guitar chords slowly building the tension as Chester Bennington's powerful vocals just soar on top of it. The power chords used in this riff are all played with just one finger across strings 4-6. I hope you guys enjoy learning yet another great one from Linkin Park!

A tribute in honor of Chester Bennington. Linkin Park was a huge inspiration for me when I was young and this news has been devastating. Rest in peace, Chester.
