This is a screen-capture video from a TuneLing for "I Am Not Okay", by Jelly Roll. This song is also available in a separate TuneLing video for guitar! Notes: Jelly Roll is a powerful singer, and in this song, he takes a dark, sad lyric, and turns it into something a little more uplifting. The net effect is something irresistible, like pretty much everything he does. The song is actually fairly easy on both guitar and ukulele, with just a couple of notable points: 1) In the third bar of each verse, the guitar can play a D/F# chord (pronounced "D over F-sharp", and yes, you can use your thumb for the lowest note!). This doubles the bass line, from E to F# to G, and we recommend you get used to that D/F# shape - it's very commonly used! But the ukulele can't really do this, so on the uke, we just use a plain D between the Em and the G. 2) The D and the D6 chords are essentially interchangeable throughout - either one will work wherever the other is played. But we show the D6 only in the verses, to make them more distinct from the other sections. The D6 is just a tad richer sounding than the plain D, but we like some contrast between the sections, so we choose to NOT use it everywhere we could. YOU, however, should feel free to mix and match them any way you like!
