My friend Mark told me about this guy Justin Sandercoe of JustinGuitar.com on Youtube. Justin has a ton of great videos for people learning how to play the guitar. I took a quick look and started with something simple like doing chord changes. He shows a cool technique called: Anchor Fingers for A, D and E Guitar for beginners. I chose this one because A, D and E are also 1- 4 -5 blues progression chords. So once you get pretty good at playing these chords and moving from chord to chord you should be able to play the blues with ease.
It's also good to count how many chord changes you can do in one minute. The more you practice the better you will get and by counting your chord changes (for 1 minute) you will be able to see your progress. If you work on doing these fast - AS WELL as spending time getting them perfect and clear - you end up with them fast AND clear. Give it a try.
