The #1 question I get asked (that I also used to ask) is, "What's the strumming pattern?"
Here I have went through 7 strumming options that are easy to do that you can apply to songs you hear or write.
1. Slow Strum
2. Muted Strings (for faster songs)
3. Emphasize the first chord
4. Slap chord. (has a drum sound) great for faster songs or switching up a song)
5. Pick the individuals strings for each chord
6. Bass strum
7. Hammering on notes during the chords

Check out my new book! http://www.blackforrestmusic.com Weak, floppy strumming is well..... weak. This lesson breaks down the mechanics of strumming chords into three areas of motion. Practice all three exercises individually to improve strumming power and accuracy. Your drummer will thank you kindly if you practice this...
