This is my first cover, and also my first song with such exposed vocals. I'm pretty new to singing but am really enjoying it. Jacob's been a great inspiration to me on that front (and many others). Such an empowering human!
I grew up in a luthier household filled with bizarre instruments. My main musical influences are film soundtracks (LOTR & Miyazaki), jazz, and Celtic folk music.
While you wouldn't know it from this video, saxophone is by far by best instrument. I played jazz saxophone intensively through high school, and the only instrument I've formally studied. I've picked up these other instruments with lots of help from wonderful YouTube educators. 😁
I feel called to make music that helps reconnect folks with the Earth, and am hatching an album project along those lines. As I was sitting here figuring out how start a music career after many years doing other random things, this beautiful song dropped out of the sky!
