Todays song is Round Here by Counting Crows. The band formed in Berkeley, California in 1991 by singer Adam Duritz and guitarist David Bryson. Counting Crows became icons of the 1990s alternative boom by rejecting grunge's aggressive distortion in favor of emotionally raw, poetic folk-rock storytelling.
This song has been on my list add for way too long. The song was released as the second single from their multi-platinum 1993 debut album August and Everything After. It is a haunting, cinematic alternative-rock epic about early-20s existential dread, mental health struggles, and the crushing realization that adulthood doesn't pan out the way society promises.
Frontman Adam Duritz originally co-wrote the track in Berkeley, California with his previous, short-lived indie band, The Himalayans, before bringing it over as a foundational piece for Counting Crows. Though "Mr. Jones" was their massive radio pop hit, Duritz believed "Round Here" was the true creative soul of the band. When they were booked on Saturday Night Live in January 1994, NBC executives expected them to open with the catchy radio single. Duritz fiercely refused, going as far as threatening to walk away from the career-making broadcast unless they could open with a raw, full-length version of "Round Here". They played it uncut and primal. The blistering performance immediately pushed the album into the global top ten.
So let's finally learn this one together... I'm still searching for an ASL cover - Can you make one? For now lets start learning this song on Guitar, Ukulele and Piano too. Plus check out the bonus cover videos of this song too. Let's get in to it.

Counting Crows Female Cover | Round Here - Lara Lark
This song by Counting Crows holds a very special place in my heart. I haven't found any other Counting Crows female covers, have you? I've been told there's better songs for my voice, but for me, this song isn't about that. I really "feel it" when I sing this song. It has a lot of bitter sweet nostalgia connected to it. When I sing this it feels like I'm poor out some old pain and I'm making room for more good vibes.

Counting Crows - Round Here (Acoustic Cover) Excuse the spit and the voice cracks in the bridge- but one of my favorite deep tracks.

Off we go! Just another cover, this time using my good old loop-pedal again :) Hope you like it :) I'd like to hear what you think about it :) AND sorry for distortion in between, seems like i was a bit too loud this time or still just a bit too close to the microphone :D
