Here's a double dose of Classic IV - Stormy & John Legend - Save Room. Here's your chance to learn both songs (or which ever one you want because the chords are basically the same).
The Classic IV song was released in September 1968 as a single from their LP Mamas and Papas/Soul Train. It went on to become a massive hit, peaking at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and cementing the band's signature "soft Southern rock" sound. Led by the smooth, smoky vocals of Dennis Yost, the Classics IV specialized in lush, melodic "blue-eyed soul" pop. The signature groove of "Stormy" relies on a iconic bass line and a jazzy, crying guitar rhythm that made the track a standard for late-1960s pop-soul sophistication.
The John Legend - Save Room was released on August 8, 2006, as the smash-hit lead single from John Legend’s multi-platinum sophomore studio album, Once Again. The track earned a Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. The song’s instrumentation wasn't sampled directly from the original Classics IV tape. Instead, Legend's manager and label boss at the time, Kanye West, dug up a rare 1969 jazz-instrumental cover of "Stormy" by Hungarian guitarist Gábor Szabó. West brought the Szabó guitar loop into the studio and suggested Legend sing over it. Because the vocal melody lines are structured identically to "Stormy," original writers Buddy Buie and James Cobb were officially given songwriting credits on the track, bypassing any potential plagiarism battles.
So let's learn them in ASL, Guitar, Ukulele, & Piano. Plus check out the covers. Let's get to it:

Stormy Dennis Yost Classics IV Cover
I'm seeing the upside of Ramirez guitars as never before-especially the George Harrison Model.. It has a very intimate, expressive sound to me.. But really. it's the song, and the smoky, intoxicating voice of Dennis Yost. Unfortunately, it's my voice on this version.. I hope you'll listen and enjoy nonetheless..
