It served as the blockbusting second single from his multi-platinum third studio album, The Predator. Produced by DJ Pooh, the track is not a re-recorded cover; it utilizes a direct, loop-style sample of Ernie Isley’s exact 1977 drum beat and acoustic guitar progression from "Footsteps in the Dark." The airy, laid-back quality of the Isley Brothers' instrumentation acts as the perfect, soothing counterweight to Cube's gritty storytelling.
