Bakar - Hell N Back (ASL?, Guitar, Ukulele?, Piano, & More)

Todays song is Hell N Back by Bakar.  Bakar is a British solo singer-songwriter, not a traditional band. His genre-blurring style is a distinct melting pot that seamlessly stitches together elements of indie rock, rap, neo-soul, and punk. The stage name isn't an artistic abstraction; it is simply a shortened slice of his real, legal name: Abubakar Baker Shariff-Farr. Born and raised in Camden Town, London, to a family of Yemeni and Tanzanian descent, he shortened his middle name into "Bakar" when he launched his musical persona.

This song was officially released as a single on August 15, 2019. It served as the infectiously sunny, breakthrough lead single for his second EP, Will You Be My Yellow? The track spent months as a massive underground sleeper hit, eventually achieving global popularity and topping Billboard's Adult Alternative Airplay chart in 2020. Due to its enduring viral nature, a revamped version featuring Atlanta R&B star Summer Walker was released on September 21, 2023, appearing on his sophomore studio album, Halo. The title "Hell N Back" is a literal metaphor for navigating the tumultuous, chaotic, and often dark chapters of life before finally finding safety in another person. Bakar writes an honest ode to a partner who anchored him when he was entirely lost.

This is such a great song. So let's learn this one together... I'm still searching for an ASL cover and a ukulele tutorial too - Can you make one? For now lets start learning this song on Guitar and Piano. Plus check out the bonus covers. Let's get in to it.
