Todays song is Left And Right by Charlie Puth & Jung Kook. Charlie Puth (Charles Otto Puth Jr.) is an American solo singer-songwriter, producer, and classical Berklee College of Music graduate. He is globally celebrated for his perfect pitch and hitmaking pen, navigating his career as a solo act rather than fronting a band. Due to intense schedules, the two artists couldn't record in the same room. Puth texted an MP3 file of the completed demo straight to Jungkook, who recorded his parts remotely in a South Korean studio. Puth gushed over Jungkook's technical precision in interviews, noting that the K-pop star sent over a completely flawless, perfectly engineered vocal pack: "All I had to do was not touch the performance of it because he mastered that so nicely, but just drag and drop it in".
This song was released as a single on June 24, 2022. It served as the massive third single for his self-titled third studio album, Charlie. The vibrant, bubbly pop track famously features South Korean superstar Jungkook of BTS, launching a historic cross-continental collaboration that instantly dominated global music charts and streaming platforms.
Puth revealed that the song's signature hook came to him completely out of nowhere while he was fast asleep. He randomly woke up at 3:00 in the morning with the bouncy melody playing in his head. After falling back asleep and waking up hours later with the exact same melody still trapped in his mind, he ran to his piano, looped a simple D major, E minor, B minor, and G major chord progression, and laid down the beat.
This is one of my new favorite songs. So let's learn this one together... The ASL version and on Guitar, Ukulele, and Piano. Plus check out the bonus covers. Let's get in to it.
